I believe on reasonable grounds that:
- The building, if constructed in accordance with the drawings, specifications, and other documents provided or listed in the Schedule, will comply with the relevant provisions of the Building Code; and
- The persons who have undertaken the design have the necessary competency to do so.

1. Objective
This Design Features Report (DFR) defines the structure's design criteria and records key decisions. It outlines design loading, material properties, design standards, assumptions, and other relevant considerations, and defines the calculation procedure and checking principles.
2. Scope
Design of ShadowDeck™ SuperSpan aluminium profiles (30×60mm, 60×60mm, 120×60mm) as joists and bearers in deck and floor structures throughout New Zealand.

- NZ Building Code — Importance Level 2 (AS/NZS 1170.0:2002)
- Structural loading: AS/NZS 1170:2002
- Aluminium structures: AS/NZS 1664:1997
- Aluminium durability/surface treatment: AS/NZS 2312:2014

- Prepared based on reviewed drawings and client-specific demands
- Joists and bearers designed as a continuous beam over at least three spans
- Point load related to imposed action — maximum area of action defined
6. Durability
No acceptable solution is available for structural aluminium. Protection is provided through surface treatment as a minimum, with reference to AS/NZS 2312:2014.
7. Construction Monitoring
Design is based on verification of specific design aspects of construction, as agreed by owner or developer. All geotechnical values are based on the assumption of good ground.
8. Limitations
This document is issued for the party that commissioned it and for a specific purpose related only to the captioned project. EQ Struc Limited accepts no responsibility for consequences of this document being relied upon by any other party or used for any other purpose. Total maximum liability is limited to NZ$200,000.
